The Swiss Emilio Croci-Torti was a typical domestique in cycling, rarely getting the chance to claim victories for himself. Ferdy Kübler and Hugo Koblet were his most prominent team captains for whom he had to ride in many races. His first Tour de France appearance was in 1950, where he served as a helper for race winner Kübler and finished 43rd overall.
In 1954, he competed as part of the Swiss team in the Tour de France again, finishing 56th in Paris. The following year, he withdrew during the 11th stage, and he was unable to complete the race again in 1956.
Despite being a helper of other cyclists, Croci-Torti achieved some personal victories in his career. He won the Tour du Lac Léman in 1947, a stage in the Tour de Suisse in 1952, and the Tour of Luxembourg in 1954. He participated in the Tour de Suisse ten times, with his best overall finish being 11th place in 1950. Additionally, he rode in the Giro d’Italia six times, securing his highest finish of 41st place in 1949. In the prestigious monuments of cycling, he raced twelve times, achieving his best result with an 8th-place finish in Milan–San Remo in 1946.
